'What I really appreciate about Aus Wing Chun is the culture. All instructors are genuine and humble despite have incredible skills. They have a real desire to pass their skills onto the rest of the group. The culture continues through to the students irrespective of level. The primary obstacle that kept me away from training was a lack of fitness and the confidence to overcome my lack of confidence. What was the obstacle that almost prevented me from joining a martial arts school? "I originally became interested in Martial Arts as a way to protect myself and my family and partake in an activity that would be beneficial to my health. I initially trained in Wing Chun in the UK in my mid-20’s, and work commitments took over, so it wasn’t until I was in my late 40’s that I decided to study Wing Chun once again. The main excuse that prevented me from joining a Martial Arts school was balancing work and family commitments. Add to that the justification of not being in the greatest of shape provided me with the reason to delay my Martial Arts experience. I found this challenge to be extremely helpful! "I've been fascinated with Martial Arts from a very young age but never had the confidence to join. I researched a few styles and Wing Chun seemed to be the most approachable, and I decided to try a 3 session pass with the Academy. The one thing I really enjoy about Wing Chun and whats kept me being a student is the concept and biomechanics of Kung Fu's style. Simple methods that are not reliant on strength or muscle size.
